A passenger in a car that had been traveling with its hazard lights flashing Thursday afternoon on U.S. 301, was arrested after marijuana was discovered in the vehicle.

Tommie Lee McCray, 49, of Wildwood, was a passenger in the vehicle which had its emergency hazard lights activated and no visible registration, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.

The driver consented to a search of the vehicle and the deputy discovered a tin of Altoids mints containing marijuana. McCray told the deputy he had purchased the marijuana four days earlier and that was what was left of the purchase.

He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of marijuana possession. Bond was set at $1,000.
