An 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with an April burglary after his juvenile accomplice gave police his name.
Rakesh Holiday of the Cove Apartments in Lady Lake was arrested Thursday night by Lady Lake police and charged with burglary and petit theft.
The burglary had occurred at a residence in the 37000 block of Ridgecrest Lane in Lady Lake when $30 was taken from from a jar in a bedroom. Forced entry had been made through a window. The homeowner has a video surveillance system in their home and an image of the suspects had been captured.
In May, police arrested a 15-year-old suspect after his mother positively identified her son as the suspect. After his arrest, he refused to give up the name of his accomplice.
However, on Thursday, he told police that Holiday had been his accomplice. Police showed images of Holiday captured on surveillance to management at the Cove Apartments. Management said it was “very familiar with” Holiday and said he lived there with his grandmother.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $2,500 bond.
