
Harold Leslie Bibby, Jr., 61, of Fruitland Park, FL, passed from this life Friday, June 17, 2016.
Born in Petoskey, MI, on August 9, 1954, he lived in Michigan until his senior year in high school. He moved to Florida, graduated and married Sherry Schmidt. After the birth of their second child, Harold enlisted in the Army in 1977. He was stationed at Ft. Jackson South Carolina, serving in the 342nd Transportation Unit.
After his discharge, the family moved back to Florida. He drove a tractor-trailer for a few years and moved to Texas where he learned how to broker freight. He owned several businesses; 4PLEX Logistics in Leesburg, FL, was his last and most successful.
He enjoyed working in all aspects of the trucking industry, photography, scouting and coaching softball. He was a member of Association of Independent Property (Freight) Brokers & Agents (AIPBA).
Harold is survived by his loving wife, Sherry Anne Bibby; four daughters; Leslie Anne Bibby, Leesburg, FL; Lisa Marie Bibby, Austin, TX; Tammy Lynn Phifer, Ft. McCoy, FL; Tiffany Sue Bibby, San Antonio, TX; 7 grandchildren; Cody Lee Storms, Kai Tomberlin Weatherill, Tacy Nalu Oné Weatherill, Alexander Edward Ingram, Kala Sky Weatherill, Cassidy Anne Phifer, Cade Allan Phifer; a sister, Meghan Bouchard, Rochester Hills, MI; a great uncle, David Bibby, Fruitland Park, FL; two step brothers, Charles Nay, Sterling Heights, MI, Richard Nay, Washington Township, MI; one step sister, Carolyn Harshman, Hillsboro, OR; several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at Noon. A visitation will be held an hour before the service beginning at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at 2 p.m.
