Embattled Marion County Sheriff Chris Blair, currently on suspension, on Thursday filed paperwork to seek a second term.
Blair was suspended earlier this year after being indicted by a grand jury. You can read more about that HERE. He has pleaded not guilty in the case.
Blair will face Billy Woods of the Ocala Police Department and Kerry Crawford, who is retired from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in the Aug. 30 GOP primary. The winner of the Republican primary will face the winner of the Democratic primary. Former Sheriff Ed Dean and Dennis McFatten, also retired from the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, will square off in the Democratic contest.
