A 21-year-old pre-med student is challenging an incumbent Lady Lake commissioner.
Andrew Lo Faro, who lives in the April Hills Subdivision, is challenging longtime incumbent Tony Holden in Ward 2.
Lo Faro is probably best known in The Villages for his role as director of religious education at St. Timothy Catholic Church. He is also a full-time student at the University of Central Florida.
Originally from New York, Lo Faro has lived in Lady Lake for the past 19 years.
“I want to serve my community and feel I need to give back,” Lo Faro said.
In Ward 4, another longtime incumbent commissioner did not draw an opponent. Commissioner Paul Hannan will run unopposed this fall.
