
Donald “Joe” Humphrey, 75 of 744 Turnberry Lane, Lady Lake, FL, passed away on July 1, 2016
Born December 27, 1940, in Philipsburg, PA, he was the son of the late Donald C and Doris (Senser) Humphrey. He was preceded in death by his late wife Teresa “Pat” Humphrey on April 19, 2008. He was a graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola High School with the Class of 1958.
Mr. Humphrey was a veteran of the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and served from 1958 to 1962. He worked for the Department of Defense, Fort Ritchie, MD as a Communications Specialist from 1962 until retirement in 1988. Moved to The Villages in 1989, where he enjoyed playing golf, camping, cars, and providing handyman services. He was also the owner of a business that makes name tags for local clubs, organizations and churches.
Joe is survived by two daughters, Karen M Humphrey and her companion Hunter Matasa of Frederick, MD; Sandra K Good and her husband Scott of Waynesboro, PA; one son, Randall S Humphrey and his companion Phyllis Presley of Blue Ridge Summit, PA; one sister, Connie Gabrielson and husband Bill of Morrisdale, PA ; one granddaughter Callie E Good, of Waynesboro, PA; two nephews Rick Gabrielson and Ron Gabrielson; and friend of 25 years, Jack Thomas.
A memorial service will be held at Beyers Funeral Home, Lady Lake, FL on Thursday, July 7, 2016 at 11 a.m. A visitation will take place from 10 – 11 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL at the family’s convenience.
