No music at pool in The Villages after petition submitted by residents

There will be no piped-in music at Southside pool.

Nearby residents had collected signatures against having WVLG AM-640 piped in at the pool on the Historic Side of The Villages. The petition was submitted to the Villages District Office.

The Amenity Authority Committee on Wednesday agreed with a recommendation from John Rohan of the Villages Recreation Department to not have the music at the pool.

Having WVLG AM-640 broadcast at family and sports pools is the standard, Rohan said. It is not the standard to have the music at neighborhood pools.
