A 55-year-old man suffered burns when attempting to light a pilot light in a pizza oven Monday morning at Chefs of Napoli restaurant in Wildwood.

Sumter County Fire & EMS and the Villages Public Safety Department were called at 9:27 a.m. to the restaurant on U.S. 301 after the flash fire broke out.

The man was transported to UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville with minor burns. There was no damage to the restaurant. After inspection and clearance from the fire prevention bureau, the business was allowed to continue operation.
