The Lake County Board of County Commissioners will hold two public hearings on the budget and millage for fiscal year 2017. The first public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 13 at 5:05 p.m. and the final public hearing is set for Tuesday, Sept. 27 at 5:05 p.m. Both meetings will be held inside the Board Chambers, located on the second floor of the County Administration Building, located at 315 W. Main St., Tavares.

The Lake County Board of County Commissioners hosted 20 public budget workshops this year regarding everything from libraries to fire services to solid waste operations.

Citizens wishing to participate in the public comment portion of Lake County Board of County Commissioners meetings are asked to fill out a comment card prior to the item being considered. All speakers are limited to three minutes, however the Chairman retains the discretion to adjust speaking time limits.

The fiscal year of Lake County’s annual budget is Oct. 1 through Sept. 30.
