World Heart Day will be observed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 29 by the Florida Department of Health at the Sumter County Annex at County Road 466 and Morse Boulevard.

Health department employees will be sharing information about CPR, choking response, AED (Automated External Defibrillators) training and healthy living information.

Eighty percent of premature deaths from cardiovascular disease could be avoided if four main risk factors—tobacco use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol—were controlled.
