The second week of the fall season ended with 3 teams tied for first place and undefeated.
Paul Davis Restorations defeated Buffalo Crossings 17-4.
Manager, Jeff Bekasi led his team with four hits. Bob Kelly, Bill Nisbet, Jack Meagher, Duane Miller, and Don Melcher all chipped in with 3 hits. Melcher had a solo homer in the fourth. Buffalo Crossing had 3 hits from Bob Jacques; and, Roger Duncan and Phil Palma had 2 hits in the loss.
Arden Jewelers won their second game of the season holding off Synergy Wealth 10-9.
Rod Severson and John Plunkard led Arden with 3 hits each. Mark Hildebrand, Dick Adams, Al Mahar, and Tom Bortle added 2 hits each. Synergy scored 4 runs in each of the last 2 innings to get within one run of tying the game. Synergy’s Conrad Strassle was perfect at the plate with 4 hits. Rick Fredieu and Mark Schiffhauer added 3 hits each.
Humana continued to have the hot bats as they bested IHOP 13-4.
Humana got three hits from Chuck Bowman, Tom McGann, and Jim Kitzler. Kitzler had 2 doubles and a homer. Paul Justice, Ed Chirumbolo, Dave Oatley, Gary Luck, Tim Healey, and Mike Bernbach had 2 hits for the winners. IHOP’s Jim Lambert, Gary Roth, and Wayne Mallory each went 3 for 3 on the day. Ron Goldman, Manny Sanchez, and, sub, Bill Landis contributed 2 hits a piece.
Babiarz Law handed Fross & Fross a loss 11-8.
The Babs lead off batter, Ed Moriarity, went 4 for 4. Adding 2 hits for the winners were: Terry Yanny, Tim Carroll, Ed Konopka, and sub, Charles Clare. Fross & Fross lead off man, John Gouin, matched Moriarity with 4 hits as did Dave Pope. John Buchanan, Jim Morton, Carl McWilliams and sub, Ed DeMaio, had 2 hits in the loss. DeMaio had a solo homer in the third inning.
Unable to field a full team led Softball’s R Game to forfeit to Harlan Insurance 7-0.
