
A 49-year-old lawn service worker is free on $1,000 bond after his arrest on a charge of driving under the influence.
William J. Lane of Lady Lake was pulled over at about 8 p.m. Sept. 23 after he drove straight through a right-turn only lane at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Rolling Acres Road, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
After he was pulled over, Lane fell flat on his face on the pavement leaving him with multiple scratches on his face. Lake EMS was summoned to provide medical treatment.
He failed field sobriety exercises and provided breath samples that registered .216 and .218 blood alcohol content.
A black Springfield XD .40-caliber pistol, 24 rounds of ammunition and a holster that had been in the truck were taken by police were taken for safe keeping.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail and released after posting bond.
