If you are in the mood for some good gospel music and plenty of it, attend New Bethel Community Church’s Night of Joy!!! at 6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15. Plenty of singers both solos and groups will be providing entertainment that congregant Paul Sykes describes as “gospel, leaning towards southern gospel.”
New Bethel Worship Leader Ben Simmons will sing. Simmons performs throughout the area including the Orange Blossom Opry. Also performing is 4 His Glory, another well-known group in the area.
In addition to music, Heather Sykes and Patty Gunsallush will be clogging. Other groups performing are the New Bethel Voices of Heaven and the Villages Gospel Quartet. New Bethel Church members Bernie Handerhan and Don Fournier will perform solos. Other soloists and family groups from Immanuel Baptist Church in Oxford will be part of the program.
“Just a night of good singing and entertainment,” says Sykes. The church hosted a similar concert about a year ago and plans to do them more often, maybe on a quarterly basis,
New Bethel Community Church, a non-denominational church led by Pastor Isaac Deas, is located in Summerfield. The address is 8780 SE 157th Place. Reservations are not necessary; the concert is being given on a love offering basis. Light refreshments will be served.
If you would like more information about the concert, contact Paul Sykes at (352) 750-5538.
