
Lonnie Lincoln Lerch, 83, of Summerfield, FL, passed away on Tuesday, October 18, 2016. Lonnie was born in Newburg, Indiana on February 12, 1933. He was a proud veteran of The United States Army. He enjoyed woodcarving, traveling in his RV, camping, square dancing, motorcycle riding, and was a “dog whisperer.” Lonnie worked 42 years in Engineering and Quality Control for Whirlpool.
Survivors include wife of 59 years Georgia Elene Lerch; daughter Terry Lee Dobbs (Jeff); son Dale Alan Lerch (Claudia); grandchildren Andrew Dobbs (Elizabeth), Tiffany Dobbs (Steffin), Daphne Goodwin (Ryan), Sam Dobbs (Cassy), Carmen Dobbs, Matthew Lerch and Tyler Lerch; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Truea Lerch; two sisters Eloise Simpson and Aline Johnson.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 from 10 – 11 a.m., with a service at 11 a.m., located at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd., The Villages, FL. Interment will be held at a later date.
