Law enforcement is seeking a vehicle that struck and killed a 37-year-old man Sunday morning on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Leesburg.

The body of Robert Glennon of Leesburg was discovered at 7:55 a.m. on the shoulder of the roadway of U.S. Hwy. 27 at Howard Road. Glennon had been walking on the northbound side of the roadway when he was struck and killed by an unknown make/model vehicle which fled the scene, according to the Leesburg Police Department.

Glennon was pronounced dead at the scene by Lake EMS and the Medical Examiner’s Office responded to assume custody per investigative protocol.

The initial investigation suggests likely damage to the right front, passenger side, and outside mirror of the suspect vehicle.
