This week’s CFL games were not as tight as last week’s; but, were still exciting.
Arden Jewelers came back to win over Fross & Fross 10-5.
Fross & Fross, who won their first game last week, held Arden Jewelers scoreless for four innings and were only behind by one run at the start of the seventh inning. Arden scored four runs and held on to win 10-5. Arden got three hits from Al Mahar and Bill Reed, who opened the game with a home run. Mark Hildebrand, Tom Bortle, and John Hoover chipped in two hits each for the winners. Fross & Fross was led by John Buchanan’s 3 hits; and, two each from Dave Pope, Carl McWilliams, and Jim Joseph.
The other early game saw IHOP defeat Harlan Insurance 12-10.
IHOP’s first three batters, Manny Sanchez, Ron Goldman, and Gary Roth, all had three hits. Jim Lambert, Wayne Mallory, and John Barracato added two hits for IHOP. Harlan’s offense was led by David Blandford, Tom Ceglie, Jim Fetela, and Tom Ramberg, who all stroked three hits. Bob Nyce and Charles Clare contributed 2 hits each.
Softball’s R Game handed Palm Ridge Dental a 15-6 loss despite being with manager, Jack Marx, and pitcher, Ed Krisha.
SRG was led by Scott Marshall and sub pitcher, Bruce Harlan, who each had four hits. Duane Broschat, Roy Warter, and Al DuBuc added another three hits each. Palm Ridge’s offense was powered by two hits from Ed Haith, Ed DeMaio, Ray Bedford, and Jim Moyer.
Synergy Wealth continues to win as they bested Humana 10-4.
Jim Creed, Conrad Strassle, and Mike Bernbach each had three hits to lead Synergy. Adding two hits a piece were: Rick Duemler, John Reedy, and Mark Schiffhauer. Humana’s Tom McGann came up a double short of the cycle as he stroke a single, triple and home run. Dave Oatley and Tim Healey also had three hits, while Jim Kintzler and Gary Luck added two hits each.
Babiarz Law started strong and led 10-0 after three innings and came away with a 14-7 win over Buffalo Crossings.
Manager, Bob Winder, and Don Evans led Babiarz with three hits. Ed Moriarity, Terry Yanny, Chuck Mays, Craig Dahlquist, and, Bud Ramsey all had two hits. Buffalo Crossings scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning. Bob Jacques and sub, Bill DiCarlo, each had three hits to lead Buffalo Crossings. Adding two hits each were: Phil Palma, Randy Bowen, Jim Wiegand, and John Leone.
