A 27-year-old man was arrested with a gun and drugs after he was spotted driving without headlights Wednesday night near Crossroads Plaza in Lady Lake.
Robert A. McDaniel of Citra was pulled over at about 10 p.m. and appeared to be nervous, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department. A K-9 unit was summoned and the dog alerted on McDaniel’s vehicle. A search turned up marijuana, methamphetamine, an adderall pill and drug paraphernalia. In addition, a loaded .22-caliber handgun was located under the driver’s seat. A pair of brass knuckles was also found in the vehicle.
He was arrested on charges including trafficking in amphetamines, producing methamphetamine, possession of a concealed weapon. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $110,000 bond.
