During this past week’s Amenity Authority Committee meeting, Villages Recreation Director John Rohan gave an update on the progress of the following capital projects:
- Work on the Hacienda Trail and Multi-Modal paths north of County Road 466: District staff should receive complete instructions in the beginning of December and will determine the appropriate method of solicitation for the project.
- Saddlebrook Recreation Center renovation project: The RFP for the renovation was awarded and the project is estimated to begin in January 2017. The projected completion of the renovation is summer 2017. As with any renovation project, the facility will be closed.
- Mulberry Dog Park and golf cart parking area: “Abundant improvements” have been made to the area. The project is in construction of the multi-modal area and parking area for the dog park, and a purchase order for the construction of the path has been issued. Barring any setbacks from weather, the anticipated completion date is next month. The total estimated cost of this project is $42,000.
- Indoor restroom at El Santiago Recreation Center: The project has started with a target completion date later this month. The cost of the project is estimated at $15,000.
