David Thomas Love, 80, of The Villages, FL, passed away after a long illness on November 14, 2016.
He was born in Pittsburgh, PA. David graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in Mechanical Engineering and then got an MBA from Xavier University, Cincinnati, OH.
His first job was at Pratt Whitney Aircraft. He then served in the Army for three years at Fort Bragg, NC as a pilot.
He then was employed by General Electric in Cincinnati in aircraft engines. David traveled the world as the manager of the J79 engine.
David and his wife June came to The Villages from Cincinnati, OH in 2005. His favorite activity was golf which he shared with his great friend, Buddy Harp.
Besides his parents, David was predeceased by a brother, Bill Love.
David leaves his loving wife of 55 years, June (Phillips) Love; two sons, Eric of Los Angeles; Kevin (Michele) of Dayton, OH; three grandchildren, and brothers, Jack Love of Knoxville, TN and Jim Love of Bozeman, MT.
The family will receive relatives and friends at a Gathering to be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, The Villages, FL on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
