Sumter County Fire & EMS battled a blaze Monday morning in Wildwood.
At approximately 7:10 a.m., fire crews from Station 31, 32, 33, and 23 along with Battalion Chiefs 31 and 11 responded to NW 27th Drive in Wildwood to reports of a structure fire.
Upon arrival of the first crew, they found a barn with heavy fire and smoke showing from the side and rear of the building. After speaking with the homeowner, the incident commander determined the structure was not an ordinary barn, but a small recording studio with a living area and office. Crews extinguished the fire and the State Fire Marshal was contacted for investigation.
The building and the contents were a total loss.
