A 23-year-old man was arrested at 1:36 a.m. Wednesday at Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466 after an alleged attack on his pregnant girlfriend.
Horace P. Carrie was arrested after he left the North Lake Apartments on County Road 466 after the alleged altercation with his girlfriend who is five months pregnant, according to an arrest report from the Lady Lake Police Department.
The girlfriend told police that Carrie became enraged when she tried to prevent him from taking her car. She told police that Carrie does not have a valid driver’s license. He then trashed her apartment and knocked her on her stomach, according to the arrest report. Lake EMS arrived on scene to evaluate the woman, but she refused transport to a hospital.
Police caught up with Carrie at Rolling Acres Road and County Road 466. He denied touching his girlfriend, “because he knew better,” the report indicated. He has a previous conviction of aggravated battery on a pregnant female.
He was arrested on a charge of aggravated battery and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $15,000.
