An agent from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms tipped off Lady Lake police Thursday night about a felon in possession of a firearm.
The agent spotted 24-year-old Justin Lee Gandy of Ocala at 9:10 p.m. getting into a vehicle and drive northbound on U.S. Hwy. 27/441.
A Lady Lake police officer pulled over Gandy’s vehicle at U.S. Hwy. 27/441 and Griffinview Drive. The officer found a 9mm semi-automatic handgun under the driver’s seat. It was loaded with the safety off, but did not have a bullet in the chamber, according to the arrest report.
Candy was arrested and booked at the Lake County Jail. Bond was set at $12,000.
