
Robert Brian (Rob) Brunett, 58, of The Villages, FL, died peacefully in his sleep on Sunday December 11, 2016. Rob was born on November 15, 1958 in Dixon, IL. He graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1976. He worked as a carpenter at Rhea Construction and later was employed at Plews Edelmann as an engineer and later transferred to Vanceboro, North Carolina, where his success was recognized as plant manager and in 1998 he was offered the Operations Manager position at Gates Rubber Company in Siloam Springs, AR. He retired at the age of 44 and moved to The Villages, Florida. He worked at Lowes and as an ambassador at Orange Blossom Hills Country Club during his retirement.
He married Aline Brooks on January 7, 1984. They had two children, Megan and Matthew. He is survived by his daughter, Megan Brunett (Ben Ober) and their children Andrew and Bentley, his son Matthew Brunett and his children Irys and Elijah. He is also survived by his mother Dorothy Brunett, his two sisters, Dorie Clouw and Cheryl Beckingham, and their four children. He is preceded in death by his father George R Brunett, and his grandparents.
He was an avid and achieved golfer, enjoyed carpentry, landscaping and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Elks and volunteered whenever he was able. Rob was always there to help friends with carpentry projects or whatever else they needed him for. He had such a big heart and was a loving father, brother, son, grandfather and friend to all.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 2 p.m. with a gathering to follow until 4 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 1511 Buenos Aires Blvd, The Villages, FL 32159. Memorials may be sent to The Brunett’s, 1800 W. Arrowhead St, Fayetteville, AR, 72701.
