A Wildwood sex offender who was arrested this past week on a Sumter County warrant, had been delivering pizzas and living at The Plantation at Leesburg.

John Jeremy Pickett, 51, turned himself in Wednesday at the Lake County Jail. He had been wanted on a Sumter County warrant charging him with failing to comply with sex offender reporting requirements.
He was convicted of a sex crime in 1997 in Ohio involving a female who was a minor. In 2006, Pickett was convicted of failure to comply with registration requirements.
For the past five months Pickett has been living at The Plantation, a 55-plus active living community on U.S. Hwy. 27 in Leesburg, according to an arrest report from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
Pickett had also been delivering pizzas in a green Chevy Prism for Papa John’s in Mount Dora. Pickett told his boss at Papa John’s he would not be returning to work until he was able to take care of some “personal issues.”
Meanwhile, law enforcement located Pickett’s green Chevy Prism at The Plantation.
He was being held without bond this weekend at the Lake County Jail.
