A Villager was arrested on his fourth drunk driving charge after he was apprehended by police after a brief foot chase.

Daniel Warren Prindle, 56, of the Village of Silver Lake had been driving westbound on County Road 466 at 2:26 a.m. Monday when a Lady Lake police officer noticed that a headlight was out on his vehicle. When the officer asked Prindle if he had been drinking, Prindle said he had consumed four to seven beers, according to the arrest report. He failed field sobriety exercises.

When the officer attempted to handcuff Prindle, he acted as though he was going to comply but instead Prindle jumped and ran 50 to 70 feet before he was apprehended by another officer. Prindle struggled with the officer and continued to try to get away.

Prindle would not cooperate when officers tried to get a breath sample. He refused to provide a urine sample.

Prindle had been convicted of DUI in 2000 in Georgia, in 2005 in Louisiana and in 2013 in Ohio.

He was booked on $11,000 bond at the Lake County Jail.
