A Lady Lake woman and a male companion were arrested after a man was pistol-whipped and carjacked Friday night in Leesburg.
Amy Denise Scott, 30, of 305 Clay Ave., was being held on $90,000 bond at the Lake County Jail on charges of carjacking, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and robbery with a firearm.
A man said he had been waiting for Scott when she arrived and began talking to him, and then “out of nowhere” a man showed up, opened a car door and dragged the man out of his car, according to an arrest affidavit from the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
A pair of cell phones and $300 in cash was taken from the man. Three other men showed up carrying guns, the report indicated. The man’s car was taken and he was left at the side of the road. He called law enforcement from a nearby service station.
The man had been pistol-whipped and EMS personnel were summoned to the scene to treat his injuries.
Arrested with Scott was Avery Leanard Tumer, 22, of Mount Dora. He is facing charges of carjacking, aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was booked at the Lake County Jail on $168,000 bond.
