A 68-year-old Village of Polo Ridge man was arrested this past weekend on a charge of driving under the influence.
Ronald Wayne Bonnici had been driving at 11:12 p.m. Saturday on Old Mill Run near Old Camp Road when he ran a stop sign, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
A deputy initiated a traffic stop in the parking lot of Palmer Legends Country Club on Buena Vista Boulevard. Bonnici told the deputy he had consumed “a couple of beers” at City Fire. Bonnici failed field sobriety exercises. He provided breath samples that registered .110 and .118 blood alcohol content.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
