A Water Oaker has been appointed to the Lady Lady Planning & Zoning Board and will succeed a Villager who quit after a commissioner’s “public ridicule.”

Regis LeClerc, 77, was appointed to the Planning & Zoning Board Monday night by the Lady Lake Commission. The retiree is a 12-year resident of Water Oak.

He will take the seat of Villager Pete Chiasson who resigned after a public chastising of the Planning & Zoning Board by Commissioner Paul Hannan. You can read more about that HERE

Chiasson, who also resigned in December from the town’s Police Pension Board, objected to the fact Hannan would not apologize for the public lashing he gave the Planning & Zoning Board members.

When a private citizen is willing to help the town by working as an unpaid volunteer he/she should never be subject to public ridicule by any official of the town,” Chiasson said in his resignation letter.
