Jason Whiteside has joined Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care as executive director of the organization’s operations in Lake and Sumter counties.

Whiteside assumed his new role in January and oversees the teams responsible for patient care and family support, operations at the four hospice houses in Lake County and The Villages, as well as outreach to medical providers and the community.

Whiteside said his passion for providing high quality and compassionate health care for seniors led him to work at hospice and home health agencies across the nation, before coming to Central Florida.

“The patients are under our care but equally important is the support of the families who are often scared, emotional and who need both education and assistance with caring for their loved one,” said Whiteside. “When they see how the entire hospice team can care for the patient and provide the support the family needs, that’s a good feeling and it’s what drew me to want to join Cornerstone Hospice.”

“Jason brings a wealth of operations experience to Cornerstone Hospice which will be beneficial as we continue to meet a growing patient population,” said Chuck Lee, CEO of Cornerstone Hospice and Palliative Care. “Jason is committed to providing loving, quality care to our patients and their families. This is the cornerstone of our organization and the most important part of our mission.”

Whiteside earned a bachelor of arts from the University of Toledo, Ohio and a Masters of Healthcare Administration from National University. He and his family relocated to Clermont.
