A 30-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday after liquor bottles and disarray were discovered at her home in the Pepper Tree Apartments in Wildwood.
Kristen Patricia Hammett appeared to be disoriented when Wildwood police paid her a visit during a well-being check.
A little boy told police his mother was sleeping in her room when they arrived, according to an arrest report from the Wildwood Police Department. A 1.75 liter bottle of alcohol was spotted on Hammett’s night stand and in the living room was a trash can filled with beer bottles. There were dirty dishes and spoiled food in the apartment and Hammett’s daughter was wearing a severely soiled diaper.
She was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on a charge of child neglect. Bond was set at $2,000.
