Ann Catherine Bamrick, 82, of The Villages, FL, formally of Bayside NY & Holbrook, NY, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the Hospice House in The Villages. She is survived by her beloved husband of 57 years, Ken Bamrick Sr. of The Villages; her loving son, Kenneth Bamrick Jr. and wife Pamela of Waldwick, NJ; her sister, Maura Mack of The Villages; and brother, Jack Durkin. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christa Bamrick of Ridgewood, NY. She will also be missed by her 3 amazing grandchildren, Kenneth III, Nicholas Bamrick & Jamie Zaragoza; her 2 Godsons, John Vincent Von Zwehl & Bryan Mack; along with her many Nieces & Nephews. Ann was born in Brooklyn, NY on June 26, 1934 to Sarah & John Durkin, both born in Ireland. She graduated from Assisium High School in New York City. After High School, Ann worked for General Motors for many years before taking a break from work to raise their 2 children. She re-entered the workplace and embarked on an exciting career in fashion & entertainment. She was the personal assistant to Tommy Hilfiger in the mid 80’s as he created his clothing empire. She moved on to being the entertainment coordinator for the Claridge Hotel in Atlantic City & Southern Sun Hotels in South Africa. Ann & Ken moved to The Villages from Long Island in 1998. Since moving to The Villages, Ann has been active in the Irish American Club & Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority. She was an avid Mah Jong & Bunco player. Ken & Ann loved to travel. They went to China, The Vatican, South Africa, Normandy, Ireland, Budapest, Germany, & Turkey with their most recent trip to Cuba. Her other passion was helping other seniors by volunteering her time with The Seniors vs Crime Project in the role of “Senior Sleuth”. This organization helped investigate and protect others from being taken in by various scams. She also enjoyed giving her time to “Love Incorporated” which accepted donations of everything from clothing to automobiles and then would resell them to subsidize various religious charities in central Florida.

Her family & friends will join together for a Celebration of Ann’s life at the Tierra del Sol Recreation Center in The Villages on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 5 – 8:30 p.m.
