Sumter County Sheriff Bill Farmer on Friday hosted the first meeting of 2017 of the Florida Model Jail Standards Review Committee on Friday at The Waterfront Inn in The Villages.
Farmer serves as chairman of the statewide committee.
Sheriff Farmer led the meeting along with fellow committee members Sheriff Mark Hunter of Columbia County, Commissioner Guy Tunnell of Bay County and acting Director Mark Flowers of Volusia County. Also in attendance was the Florida Sheriff’s Association Jail Service Coordinator, Isaiah Dennard. Representatives from agencies throughout the state attended to take part in this meeting.
