A local real estate developer is currently shopping for restaurants to anchor a new shopping plaza to be constructed on State Road 44 not far from Brownwood.
Freedom Plaza will be a 93,000-square-foot complex, featuring retail, commercial, hospitality and professional offices. The plaza will be located on State Road 44 just east of County Road 301.

Freedom Plaza is being developed by Preferred Realty Management Group LLC. The company has developed several local properties, including Palm Ridge Plaza, Santa Fe Professional Plaza, Santa Fe Crossing, Sunset Professional Plaza and Sabal Palms.
John Toscani of Preferred Realty Management said he is currently looking for two restaurants to anchor Freedom Plaza.
“We’re looking for a Bonefish Grill-type restaurant and a breakfast-style restaurant,” he said.
Freedom Plaza will consist of 51,000-square-feet of leasable retail space in combination with a 6,000-square-foot restaurant pad site and 36,000-square-feet of condominium space for purchase.
It will be built on early craftsmen-style architecture featuring Eco Friendly Class A buildings with more than 330 parking spaces.
