
Thomas G. Skarupa, 68, of The Villages, FL, passed away on April 22, 2017. Born in Bridgeport, CT, the son of Stephen and Bertha Kump Skarupa, he grew up in Fairfield and later settled in Stratford, CT. He was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Fairfield, CT and a veteran of the United States Navy. He is a former CT State Police Auxiliary member and served for almost 20 years.
He worked in the automotive service business for many years and ultimately became the owner/operator of Just Restorations in Stratford, CT, a restoration and general repair business. After closing his business, he proudly worked for Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, CT where he helped to assemble their Blackhawk helicopters.
In 2013, he and Patricia fulfilled their dream of retiring to The Villages to enjoy all they had to offer.
Thomas is survived by his wife of 46 years, Patricia, his son, John Paul, his son-in-law, Joshua Howarth, his mother, Bertha Skarupa, brothers James and Stephen, and sister Susan, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Stephen.
There will be a memorial mass as a celebration of his life held at St. Timothy Catholic Church in The Villages on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 8:30 a.m.
