Marilyn Jean Poynter, 89, The Villages, FL, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 26, 2017. She had lived in Waukegan , Illinois for many years before retiring to The Villages with her husband Donald Poynter, who predeceased her in 2008. Marilyn lived life to the fullest in The Villages, joining many clubs, playing golf, bowling and knitting. She was a true force of nature, loved people and knew how to be a wonderful friend.
She is survived by her children, Dawn Angelo (Dick) of Monroe, Michigan; Paul Poynter (Mary) of Canton, Georgia; grandchildren, Amy Lynn Osborne, Stacy Lynn Osborne; three great grandchildren, Paige D’Arpini, Payton and Stone Osborne; one great great grandchild, Joy Marie D’Arpini and special companion, Joe Zappavigna.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Hiers-Baxley Funeral and Cremation Life Event Center, 3975 Wedgewood Lane with the family receiving friends after the service until 4 p.m.
