Two Lady Lake police officers were honored Monday night for their quick action that saved a woman’s life.

On April 3, an employee of Arby’s restaurant flagged down Officer Ron Michaud and alerted him to an elderly woman who was clearly in distress. The woman was gasping for air.

Michaud began chest compressions.

Capt. Jason Brough was nearby at Best Buy and quickly joined in and the officers’ efforts revived the woman. She was transported to The Villages Regional Hospital. The woman’s recovery continues.

Both officers were presented with the Lifesaving Award by Police Chief Chris McKinstry at Monday evening’s Lady Lake Commission meeting.

The officers received a standing ovation from the commissioners and members of the audience.
