A man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly brandishing a knife during a dispute with a fellow fisherman over a fishing spot at Lake Deaton.

Sumter County sheriff’s deputies received a 911 call after Cheyenne T. Mullins, 55, of Wildwood allegedly threatened another man with a knife. The man had been fishing at the Lake Deaton Boat Ramp on Tuesday morning when Mullins approached him and screamed, “I’m done with you, I’m going to kill you.” He allegedly threatened to cut the man’s head off, according to an arrest report from the sheriff’s office.

Mullins told a deputy he was angry because he has been fishing in the same spot for years and the man had taken his fishing spot. Mullins had a silver knife attached to his waist.

He was arrested on a felony charge of aggravated assault with a weapon and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center. Bond was set at $2,000.
