The Amenity Authority Committee is looking at taking over 550 feet of golf cart path and bringing it into the multi-modal path system.

The stretch of concrete path is located across from Freedom Pointe along El Camino Real.

The path is bumpy and “heaving” due to growth of roots from nearby Oak trees.

There will be a cost involved.

It is estimated that the AAC would have to foot the bill for about$13,500 in professional services from Kimley-Horn & Associates Inc., the District’s engineer. The work to bring it in line with the condition of the rest of the multi-modal path would cost about $70,000.

“We need to include this as part of our trail project,” said AAC Chairman Carl Bell.
