A 45-year-old Ocala man was arrested on a drunk-driving charge when he was pulled over Monday night in Sumter County.
Thomas Dylan Martin Delong had been at the wheel of a Hyundai Tucson at 10:50 p.m. on East County Road 470 when he was pulled over for an improperly displayed registration.
The deputy making the traffic stop detected the smell of alcohol. In the center console was a Gatorade bottle containing whiskey, according to the arrest report. A second Gatorade bottle containing whiskey was found on the passenger floorboard. There was also a half-full Budweiser beer can in the center console.
Delong failed field sobriety exercises and at one point said, “I could not do this sober.” He provided breath samples that registered .201 and .206 blood alcohol content.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $1,000 bond.
