The Villages Puc Puggy Chapter of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution presented a $1,000 scholarship to Sophia Thornton during the Community Awards Ceremony at Wildwood Middle High School on Monday, May 22. 

Thornton will be continuing her education toward becoming a bio-medical engineer at Florida State University at Tallahassee.

Making the presentation on behalf of the Puc Puggy Chapter were Margie Steele of the Village of Tall Trees, Karen Carbonneau of the Village of Winifred and Regent Sallie Kautz of the Village of Glenbrook.
