A 46-year-old man was arrested after allegedly threatening another man with a large knife Tuesday at the PepperTree Apartments in Wildwood.
Wildwood police were called to the apartment complex at about 5:30 p.m. where Bret Garst Quackenbush was found to be in possession of a large knife. When officers arrived, they spotted Quackenbush and ordered him to stop, he would not comply and ran up a staircase. When officers caught him and tried to detain him, Quackenbush continued to resist arrest, according to the arrest report.
The other man told police he and Quackenbush had been engaged in an argument when Quackenbush went into his apartment and returned with a knife. Quackenbush then began lunging at him.
Quackenbush was arrested on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and resisting arrest.
He was booked at the Sumter County Detention Center on $7,000 bond.
