The third week of Central Florida League summer play saw Synergy Wealth take sole possession of first place with a 19-12 win over FBC Mortgage.

Synergy was led by the four hits of Art Anton, Jim Gordon, and sub, Rick Duemler. Adding two hits each for the winners were: BIll Reed, Craig Dahlquist, George Kennedy, Bud Ramsey, Vernon Brooks, and Jeff Stein. FBC had four hits from Chuck Alexander; while John Barrcato, Jim Joseph, and Ron Parson had three hits. Parson opened the game with a home run.

Softball’s R Game came back to defeat Palm Ridge Dental 19-13.

Palm Ridge jumped out to a 10-4 lead after two innings as they scored 5 runs in the first on a walk, an error, and five hits. They scored five more in the second as Tom Brock hit a two run homer and Vinny Caso smacked a three run homer. Paul Isenberg drove in the last three runs for Palm Ridge with a home run in the fourth. Softball’s R Game shut down Palm Ridge in the last three innings. Ralph Furbush had three hits for the Dental team and Ken Atkinson had a double and a triple. Softball’s R Game scored three runs in the first as Charles Clare drove in the first two batters with his three run homer. Hits by Ed Krisha, Dan Kincaid, and Jack Meagher scored the other run. SRG scored four more runs in the third as Charlie Clare and Ed Krisha had singles and scored on hits by Kincaid and Meagher. Jack Marx and sub, Ed Moriarity, drove in Kincaid and Meagher with hits. Bill Nisbet opened the fourth with a double and scored on Charlie Clare’s single. Clare and Dennis Bauch scored on a triple by Dan Kincaid, who scored on a single by Jack Meagher. After a single by Jack Marx, Fred Weingard drove in the last run of the inning with a single. Sub Ed Moriarity opened the fifth with a triple and scored on a single by, sub, John Wyks. Bill Nisbet and Jim Crabtree singled setting up a sacrifice fly by Charles Clare. Ed Krisha then had a double to score Nisbet and Crabtree. SRG got two insurance runs in the top of the sixth as John Wyks drove in Jack Marx and Ed Moriarity.

Previously unbeaten CarePlus fell to Gators Dockside Brownwood 12-8 as Gators won their first game of the season.

Gators was led by lead off batter, Wayne Grunewald, and John Leone who had three hits each. Chipping in two hits apiece were: Chick Cicatelli, Pat Perkins, Ray Bedford, and Al Mahar. CarePlus got three hits from Pat Rice, Dave Oatley, and Jim Wiegand. Dave Williams and Manny Sanchez had a pair of hits.
