Community Development District 8 supervisors  on Friday decided against putting up informational parking reminder signs at the Kingfisher Villas.

The parking spots were mostly full Friday at the Kingfisher Villas.
The parking spots were mostly full Friday at the Kingfisher Villas.

The board had received a single request for signs to remind residents that the parking is “temporary” in the supplemental parking areas. It appears the request was prompted aftera resident saw in the news that similar signs were going up in another villa.

“Sounds like it’s one resident. We don’t know if we have a problem,” said CDD 8 Supervisor Dennis Hayes.

Although the signs aren’t expensive, Supervisor Larry McMurry said more requests could start popping up.

“This could easily become the camel’s nose under the tent. And at the end of the day, we can’t enforce it,” McMurry said.

Supervisors indicated that if they heard from more residents of the Kingfisher Villas who want signs, they could reconsider their position.
