A crash in which a driver was seriously injured snarled traffic Saturday night on Interstate 75 in Marion County.
Christopher Jones, 52, of Fort McCoy, had been southbound at Mile Marker 365 at 9:20 p.m. when he failed to observe traffic was slowing near a construction zone, according to an accident report from the Florida Highway Patrol.
His 2017 Toyota Corolla crashed into the back of and then became lodged under the trailer of a semi driven by Magdiel Castellanous, 29, of Tampa.
Jones was transported by ambulance to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
The left and center southbond lanes remained closed for two hours until wreckers could dislodge the car from underneath the trailer and clear the roadway.
Jones was cited for careless driving.
