Rose Plantation uses technology to modernize fine dining experience

Don’t let the classic exterior and historical feel of Rose Plantation fool you. This fine dining establishment, located in Fruitland Park, is pioneering a digital point of sale system that should become standard at modern establishments across the nation.

TouchBistro, the company behind Rose Plantation’s technological efficiency, makes use of tablets and software that enables waitstaff to digitally enter orders while standing table-side. Unlike traditional orders, items entered into TouchBistro are seamlessly transferred to the kitchen. The fluidity and accessibility of order data available through TouchBistro affords businesses the opportunity to keep a close eye on customer trends and demand.

Although a form of the technology exists at larger restaurant chains throughout the country, many restaurants only offer payment through a digital point of sale and don’t permit staff to enter orders the same way. TouchBistro bills itself as the “#1 Ranked Restaurant Point of Sale System” in the world and targets local “cafes, bars, and restaurants,” according to its website.

If you haven’t had a chance to try out the new system, Rose Plantation is located near the intersection of Rose Avenue and County Road 466A.
