A resident of the Chula Vista Villas in the Village of Del Mar was arrested after an altercation that caused a ruckus Sunday evening.
Michael Troy Shaw, 39, who lives at 920 Cancun Court, had been lying face down in the street prior to the arrival of Lady Lake police officers. When they arrived, he was in a physical altercation with his girlfriend.
Shaw had pushed his girlfriend in the garage, causing her to strike her head on the floor and a wall, according to an arrest report.
When police tried to take him into custody, they had to take him to the ground, drawing the attention of residents. When placed in the patrol car, Shaw attempted to kick out the back window. He has previously been arrested for battery, the report indicated.
He was booked at the Lake County Jail on a charge of felony battery and a misdemeanor charge of disorderly intoxication.
