To the Editor:
You must be a U.S. citizen to vote, legally. You must also speak and understand English, unless you were 50 years old and had lived here for 20 years. (Or 55 and lived here for 15 years) It seems like an OK exception because these people still had to pass a civics test with the aid of an interpreter. They lived here a long time and were determined to become Americans. However, this group of non-English-speaking, legal, voters are a very small demographic, especially when reduced to their native language groups! All other citizens/voters (by definition) understand English. Why then, would a major political group spend a great deal of money on Spanish language political ads for a Congressional seat or for that matter, any political office? Is it possible or probable that this “big money” knows there is voter fraud? By the way, Democrats beware. It’s a Republican PAC doing it. This time!
