A 45-year-old man was jailed on $21,000 bond after a bizarre incident in Wildwood.

A man said he was sitting on his porch when a man later identified as Mark Alan Lipshaw of Wildwood approached him from the street Wednesday morning. The man told Sumter County sheriff’s deputies that Lipshaw claimed he was the “police,” there was an emergency, and he needed his vehicle. The man immediately walked back into his residence in the 4600 block of County Road 44A, locked the door and contacted law enforcement.
Lipshaw then went to a neighbor lady’s home and claimed he was law enforcement and needed to use her vehicle for emergency purposes, she then shut and locked her door and contacted law enforcement. She advised he began hitting or kicking the door before leaving. It was in her yard where deputies found Lipshaw hiding behind a tree. Lipshaw refused to identify himself to a deputy and said, ”Just take me to jail.”
He was taken into custody and booked at the Sumter County Detention Center.
