A couple in a car stolen from Texas were arrested Monday morning by Lady Lake police officers.
The Chevy four-door was pulled over at 9:55 a.m. on Griffin View Drive and Winners Circle in Lady Lake.
The driver was identified as Keri Lynn Martin, 31, of Silver Springs, and a passenger was identified as Richard Allen Pettis III, 30, of Oxford.
A search of Martin’s purse turned up syringes and methamphetamine.
A backpack was found to contain needles and several baggies associated with drug sales. It also contained several cell phones.
Martin was arrested on charges of grand theft of a motor vehicle, driving while license suspended, possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Pettis was arrested on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.
Both were booked at the Lake County Jail.
