Phone stolen from man running food bank at Silver Springs church

A phone was stolen from a man running a food bank at a Silver Springs church Tuesday.

A Marion County sheriff’s deputy made contact with the victim in reference to a stolen cell phone valued at $600, according to a MCSO incident report. The victim said he was at the New Harvest Church of God located on 13184 East Highway 40 on Tuesday running a food bank, as the church does once a month, the report stated. While the victim and his wife were handing out food items, they set down their LG G4 smart phone on the counter and walked away. When they returned, the phone was gone from the location.

The victim described the phone as white in color with a paisley type cover on it.
